Creating a website to bring the dream to life

The move to rural Northumberland was a positive and uplifting lifestyle change for us all. Crookham Eastfield Farmhouse found us and we fell instantly in love with it. And quite honestly, we have never looked back.

Creating a warm and welcoming family home for us has always been my goal – my dream, even – and we have settled here wonderfully. The children love the fresh air and freedom that country living brings and I have got the farmhouse kitchen with an Aga that I have long coveted!

We’ve always been a sociable family. The space we enjoy at Crookham Eastfield Farmhouse lends itself for having guests to stay, and I find real pleasure in looking after friends and relatives when they come to visit. From my days in the wedding industry, I’ve spent many hours in venues looking from the outside in on what made them great (or less great!) and I realized early on that the most important thing to set a venue apart from the rest was first class customer service with an eye for detail….

Over the years, friends have often suggested that running a B&B would be an obvious occupation for me because of the care and attention I love to show them when they come to visit. And the more friends that mentioned it, the more it became clear that it would be pretty straightforward to transform the two spare guest suites (that are quite self-contained within the house) and one of the lounges into a homely and comfortable B&B. There’s the added bonus that it also fits well around the children and lets me try to be the domestic goddess I’ve so often aspired to be!

From the fields around the farmhouse to the picturesque villages nearby, the surrounding area is beautiful – every morning I appreciate the view across the garden and hearing the wildlife. The locals are unbelievably friendly and with limitless options of things to do in the in this part of Northumberland, creating an inviting place to stay for either a stopover or a few days visit became a natural progression for this chapter in my life.
